Safe Motherhood Initiative
Partnering with local midwives and gynecologists, Safe Motherhood Initiative brings hope and maternal health care access to Benin’s rural moms. We travel to villages, teaching prenatal care and safe delivery through workshops, turning fear into strength. Every pregnant woman gets a free prenatal and birth kit for a healthy pregnancy and safe birth—one key to cutting Benin’s 523 maternal deaths per 100,000 births.
Mental Health & Postpartum Support
This program supports Benin’s rural moms after birth and beyond. Over 500 moms die yearly in Benin during childbirth, but many more suffer silently from postpartum depression. In partnership with local mental health professionals and midwives, we travel to villages, hosting workshops and support groups to lift spirits. With educational materials and postpartum and self-care kits, we help women protect their mental health during this fragile time.
Smart Starts: Saying No to teens Pregnancies
Smart Starts helps Benin’s rural girls thrive. Teen pregnancies raise health risks and maternal deaths. We partner with local schools to stop that. Our classes teach abstinence, contraception, and smart choices, backed by sharing useful resources like sexual health guides and condoms. We are breaking the cycle of early motherhood with knowledge and support, giving girls a chance to shape their own paths—one lesson at a time.
Mamas Speak Up
Mamas Speak Up empowers Benin’s rural women to fight for their health. We train them with skills to demand better care from clinics and leaders, turning silence into strength. In a country with 523 maternal deaths per 100,000 births, their voices can save lives.
